Call Coverage (Forwarding)

"Coverage" is a feature that forwards calls, either immediately or after n rings, to another location.

The Hitachi SelecSet series phones provide call coverage to two different types of calls:
     Internal call coverage: These calls are made within the hotel, such as extension to extension calls.
     External call coverage: These are calls that originate from outside the hotel and are directed to an extension.

Always remove existing call coverage.
     Press # # 9to remove internal call coverage (listen for confirmation tone or "confirmed" displayed on display phones).
     Press * * 5 to remove external call coverage (listen for confirmation tone or "confirmed" displayed on display phones).

Covering your phone to voicemail:
     Press # 9 [voicemail ext.]to send internal calls to voicemail (listen for confirmation tone or "confirmed" displayed on display phones).
     Press * 5 [voicemail ext.] to send external calls to voicemail (listen for confirmation tone or "confirmed" displayed on display phones).

Covering your phone to another extension:
     Press # 9 [ext. desired]to send internal calls to extension number programmed (listen for confirmation tone or "confirmed" displayed on display phones).
     Press * 5 [ext. desired] to send external calls to extension number programmed (listen for confirmation tone or "confirmed" displayed on display phones).

Covering your phone to an outside number:
     Press # 9 [number desired]to send internal calls to an outside number (i.e., #,9 9,1-202-936-1212)(listen for confirmation tone or "confirmed" displayed on display phones).
     Press * 5 [number desired] to send external calls to an outside number (i.e., *,5 9,1-202-936-1212) (listen for confirmation tone or "confirmed" displayed on display phones).

Covering all calls:
When CAC is set, calls are sent immediately to the destination station. Calls follow the coverage patterns established by prior call coverage settings (see above).
     Press # 6to set CAC.
     Press # # 6 to cancel CAC.




Conference Calls

To establish a three-party conference:
While engaged in conversation:
     Press the CONFkey.
     Press the desired station number.
     Press the CONF key again to add the held party to the conversation.




Group Call Pickup

Group Call Pickup allows any station in a previously defined group to answer a ringing station in that group. Groups are stablished by the communications manager.

To answer a ringing phone:
     Press * 4.




Group-Hold

Calls may be placed on hold so that members of the predetermined groups (as defined by the communications manager) may all have access to the line.

To place a call on group-hold:
     Press any available GH key.

To retrieve a call on group-hold:
     Press the illuminated GH key.




Holding

To place a call on hold:
     Press the HOLD key.

To retrieve a held call:
     Press the flashing CAP key.




Key Group Line Control

Key group line control may be performed by individual station users within groups that have been predetermined by the communications manager. This function utilizes the Station Speed Calling feature and allows station users to determine which stations appear on their telephones.

To register a key station:
     Press # 7.
     Press an available AUTODIAL key (lamp illuminates).
     Press the number of the station to be added or modified.
     Press the appropriate control code*.
     Wait for confirmation tone.


*Control Codes:
     1101 - programmed station can be answered, illuminates when busy, rings at your station

     1001 - programmed station can be answered, illuminates when busy, but does not ring at your station.





Last Number Redial (LNR)

LNR saves the most recently dialed phone number.

To use LNR:
     Press # 8




Messaging

Messages may be left for station users from various sources (e.g. voice mail, other stations, message center). When a message has been sent, the message waiting lamp at the destination station will be illuminated. If the message lamp does not extinguish after executing the retrieval procedure, repeat the procedure to retrieve additional messages.

To retrieve messages:
     Press the MSG key or # 0.




Station Speed Calling

Frequently dialed numbers may be registered for use by individual stations.

To register a speed dial number:
     Press # 7.
     Press an available AUTODIAL key.
     Enter the telephone number to be stored.
     Wait for confirmation tone.

To use speed dial:
     Press the appropriate AUTODIAL key.




System Speed Calling

Speed calling provides abbreviated access to frequently dialed numbers from any extension within the facility. System speed call numbers are stored by the communications manager.

To access system speed call:
     Press * 9
     Press the two-digit identification code for the stored phone number.




Transferring

During the transfer, the transferee may return to the calling party by pressing the CAP key associated with the calling party (normally CAP 1). Key group members who have a key group line registered on their station may transfer a call to that line by simply pressing the appropriate AUTODIAL key.

To transfer a call:
     While engaged in a conversation, press the TRFR key.
     Press the desired station number.
     Wait until called party answers.
     Announce the call.
     Press TRFR or hang up.
